Looking for a QuickBooks Online Accountant Alternative in India? Here's How MyPract Compares
By the MyPract team · Updated 2026-10-05
Short answer: QuickBooks Online Accountant is not an option for Indian firms: Intuit says there has been no access to QuickBooks products in India since 1 July 2023. MyPract is an India-hosted alternative for practice management, priced in rupees from ₹6,000 a year for up to 5 users, and it works whichever accounting software your clients use.
Last updated 5 October 2026. MyPract is our product, so we link competitor claims to their sources and list where each competitor is stronger. Converted rupee figures exclude bank forex charges and 18% GST on imported services.
QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) is free for accountants in the markets where Intuit sells it, and it includes practice management features: a work dashboard, projects, tasks and client requests. But it is not an option for Indian firms. Intuit's India site states that new sign-ups ended in July 2022 and that, as of 1 July 2023, there is no longer access to QuickBooks products in India, including QBOA and QuickBooks Time (Intuit India).
This post is for Indian CA firms that used QBOA's practice tools, or are reading global reviews that recommend them.

QBOA's practice tools are free because Intuit earns from your clients' QuickBooks Online subscriptions. Its UK sister product, QuickBooks Practice Manager, is free only if a firm has five or more QuickBooks Online licences (Intuit UK). Indian clients overwhelmingly use Tally, Zoho Books or Busy, and QuickBooks Online itself is no longer sold in India, so the model does not apply here.
Where MyPract is stronger
- It is available, supported and hosted in India, with a privacy policy drafted for the DPDP Act 2023.
- Ledger-agnostic. MyPract does not care which accounting software your clients use.
- Built for CA engagements. Statutory audits, tax audits and advisory work run as engagements with dependencies and checklists.
- Billing control. Time approvals, period locks and rate rules feed invoices from approved time.
Where QuickBooks Online Accountant is stronger
- Free in its supported markets.
- Direct access to client books when clients use QuickBooks Online.
- ProAdvisor programme with training and a directory listing.
Who should choose which?
Choose QBOA if your firm operates in a supported country and your clients run QuickBooks Online.
Choose MyPract if you practise in India. QBOA is not available to you.
