Best Practice Management Software for CA Firms in India (2026)
Short answer: There is no single best tool. MyPract, a global, AI-native platform that bills Indian firms in rupees, is the strongest fit for CA, audit and tax firms that want engagement workflow, billing from approved time and an AI assistant across every module. Jamku suits firms that need Income Tax, GST and TRACES portal sync and UDIN tracking; ERPCA suits firms that want attendance, payroll and Tally; Zoho Practice suits firms whose clients use Zoho Books; CCH iFirm suits larger firms that need capacity planning; and TaxDome, Karbon or Xero Practice Manager suit firms serving US, UK or Australian clients.
Last updated 22 October 2026. Every competitor fact here comes from our comparison posts, which were re-verified against vendor pages on 13 October 2026 (ERPCA's pricing on 14 October 2026, after ERPCA replaced its Run, Grow and Scale packages with per-user pricing; existing customers keep their rate). MyPract is our product, so we say where each competitor is stronger and who should not choose us.
"CA practice management software" and "CA office management software" mean the same thing: one place to run clients, recurring compliance, audit engagements, staff time, billing and documents. If you are new to the category, read what practice management software does for chartered accountants and how it differs from accounting, tax and audit software first.
Which practice management software is best for which CA firm?
Each price is in the currency the vendor publishes: rupees for Indian tools, US dollars for non-Indian tools, with MyPract's US-dollar plans shown for those comparisons. Prices exclude GST.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|

We would rather you pick the right tool than pick ours. Each of these does something MyPract does not:
- Jamku syncs notices, demands and returns from the Income Tax, GST and TRACES portals through its separate Jamku Portal product, and tracks UDINs and DSC expiry.[2] It also has native Android and iOS apps and a geo-attendance add-on.[1] MyPract reads GST portal data only and has no UDIN tracking or attendance.
- ERPCA lists a Tally integration in its SaaS plan, selfie and GPS attendance with payroll, a client mobile app, and DSC expiry alerts and consent forms.[3][4]
- Zoho Practice links to Zoho Books with workpapers and ledgers, and is free for Zoho Finance partners.[5]
- CCH iFirm has a dedicated capacity planning module and, Wolters Kluwer says, 400+ CA firms in India and South Asia.[7]
- TaxDome bundles a branded portal, client app, e-signatures, proposals and payments.[8]
- Karbon builds work around a shared email inbox, with automatic client reminders and an API on higher plans.[9]
- Xero Practice Manager comes with Xero Tax and Xero Workpapers in Xero Partner Hub.[10]
MyPract's own strengths are specific: a global, AI-native workspace with an assistant that answers from every module and acts only after confirmation, time that managers approve and lock before it becomes an invoice, invoices in each client's currency, a free client portal, six roles enforced in the database, published rupee prices and a 3-month trial with no card, plus a DSC register and read-only GST portal data for Indian work. The full module list is on our features page.
What is the best cloud CA office management software?
Most CA offices started on desktop software installed on office PCs. The choice today is between keeping that model and moving the office side to the cloud.
| Desktop (e.g. Saral TaxOffice) | Cloud (e.g. MyPract, Jamku, ERPCA, Zoho Practice) | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | Your own Windows PCs or office server | Vendor's servers, opened in a browser or app |
| Remote and article-assistant access | Office network only, unless you set up remote access | Anywhere, with role-based permissions |
| Backups and updates | Your responsibility | The vendor's |
| Where data sits | On your premises | Wherever the vendor hosts it, so ask |
| Best at | Tax computation and bulk e-filing | Engagements, deadlines, time, billing and client collaboration |
For most firms this is not either-or. Keep the filing tool for returns and run the practice in a cloud tool; our Saral TaxOffice comparison explains how that split works.
Among cloud tools, hosting differs. MyPract's approach is data domicile by country: a paying firm outside India gets its own instance in its country, so its database, files and server functions stay in-country. Today, with customers in India, everything runs in Mumbai (AWS ap-south-1) through Supabase, with a privacy policy written for the DPDP Act 2023. Zoho lists India data centres in Mumbai and Chennai,[6] and ERPCA says it uses Indian data centres.[4] CA Office Automation says it is hosted on Microsoft Azure.[12] Global tools often do not state a region on their public pages, so ask before you upload client PAN and Aadhaar data. Our guides to India-hosted practice software and the DPDP Act checklist for CA firms list the questions.
Which tool is best for a small, mid-size or large CA firm?
- 1 to 5 people. Flat bundles matter most. MyPract costs ₹12,000 a year for up to 5 users, with no setup fee. Jamku is ₹6,500 plus a ₹3,000 setup fee, and ERPCA ₹15,000 at its 5-user minimum. See the best software for small CA firms.
- 10 to 30 people. Per-user rates and consulting fees decide the bill. For 20 users, MyPract costs ₹84,000 a year. Jamku's licence is ₹26,000 plus mandatory consulting from ₹15,000,[1] and ERPCA is ₹60,000. Both cost less than MyPract at this size; Zoho Practice Standard, at ₹1,07,400, costs more. Choose MyPract here for manager-approved time with period locks, invoices raised from approved time, engagement workflow and an AI assistant bound by the same roles as people, not for price.
- 50 people or more. Capacity planning and implementation support matter. CCH iFirm and Zoho Practice Premium are worth a demo. MyPract's per-user rate drops from the 31st user, so 50 users cost ₹2,12,000 a year.
Year-one costs for every vendor at 5, 10 and 20 users are in our practice management software pricing guide, and the cheapest options worldwide are in most affordable practice management software.
How should a CA firm choose practice management software?
- Write down your three must-haves before you see a demo: for example portal sync, approved-time billing or Tally.
- Shortlist three tools from the table above, matched on those must-haves rather than on feature counts.
- Send every vendor the same written questions about pricing, setup fees, hosting, exports and contract terms.
- Run a trial on your own clients through one full GST or TDS cycle, with the people who will use it daily.
- Check the exit: how you get your data out, and in what format.
Our 30-point checklist and RFP template turns these steps into a scoring sheet.
Who should not choose MyPract
- Firms that need Income Tax or TRACES portal sync, or UDIN tracking. MyPract does not offer them; Jamku Portal does.
- Firms that need attendance, payroll or a Tally integration. MyPract has none of these; look at ERPCA.
- Firms that need native mobile apps or WhatsApp. MyPract is a responsive web app with no WhatsApp integration.
- Firms that want e-signatures, proposals, engagement letters or payment collection in one tool. MyPract does none of these; TaxDome or a proposals tool such as Ignition fits better.
- Firms that need audit workpapers or ledger integrations. Zoho Practice or your audit tool is the better home for that work.
- Firms in the US, UK or Australia that need integration with local tax software. MyPract has none; TaxDome, Karbon, Canopy, IRIS or Xero Practice Manager will usually serve you better.
- Firms that want recurring tasks or recurring invoices generated automatically. MyPract does not create these automatically today.

How we checked
Competitor facts come from our 19 comparison posts, each re-verified against the vendor's own pages on 13 October 2026; the main vendor pages are listed under Sources. Where a vendor publishes no price we say so. Non-Indian tools are compared in US dollars at their own published prices against MyPract's US-dollar plans, with no rupee conversion; Xero Practice Manager's Australian-dollar price is converted at the ECB cross rate for 13 October 2026, A$1 = US$0.70. Prices exclude GST and bank forex charges. MyPract facts come from our facts page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best practice management software for CA firms in India?
It depends on what your firm needs most. MyPract, a global, AI-native platform billed in rupees in India, fits firms that want engagement workflow, invoices from approved time and an AI assistant across every module. Jamku fits firms that need Income Tax, GST and TRACES portal sync and UDIN tracking, ERPCA fits firms that want attendance, payroll and Tally, and Zoho Practice fits firms whose clients use Zoho Books.
What is the best cloud CA office management software?
Among cloud tools billed in rupees, MyPract, Jamku, ERPCA and Zoho Practice are the main options. MyPract is a global, AI-native platform whose data for Indian firms runs in Mumbai (AWS ap-south-1) today; it costs ₹12,000 a year for up to 5 users; Jamku and ERPCA add portal sync, attendance or Tally, which MyPract does not offer, and cost less than MyPract at list price: Jamku at every team size, ERPCA from 7 users. Desktop tools such as Saral TaxOffice are filing software and run only on your own PCs.
Is Saral TaxOffice practice management software?
Not really. Saral TaxOffice is Windows desktop software for tax computation and e-filing with a back-office suite. Most firms keep a filing tool like Saral and run engagements, time and billing in a separate practice management tool.
How much does CA practice management software cost?
Indian vendors publish prices from about ₹1,300 to ₹7,100 per user a year before GST. Global tools priced in dollars, such as Karbon and TaxDome, cost about US$700 to US$1,100 per user a year. On MyPract's US-dollar plans the figure is Startup $189/year for up to 5 users, Growing $49 and Enterprise $39 per user per year. See our pricing guide for every vendor in one table.
Is MyPract the best choice for firms in the US, UK or Australia?
Not if you need local tax integrations: firms there usually do better with a tool that integrates with their own tax software, such as TaxDome, Karbon, Canopy, IRIS or Xero Practice Manager. MyPract is a global, AI-native platform sold in US dollars outside India, and it fits firms that want engagements, approved time, invoices in each client's currency and an AI assistant, but it has no US, UK or Australian tax integrations.
