Best Practice Management Software for Company Secretary (CS) Firms in India
Short answer: A CS firm usually needs two kinds of software: a secretarial tool that prepares MCA e-forms, registers and minutes, and practice software that runs clients, tasks, documents and fees. Gen CompLaw suits firms that want MCA V3 e-form filing, XBRL and registers; RegAuto-Secretarial suits firms that want board-meeting-driven compliance with practice tools in one cloud product; ERPCA and Jamku suit firms that want a compliance calendar; and MyPract, a global, AI-native platform billed in rupees in India, suits CS firms that want engagements, DSC custody, a client portal, an AI assistant and billing from approved time. MyPract does not file MCA forms or sync with MCA21.

A company secretary's practice looks different from a CA's. The work is organised around companies and LLPs rather than tax returns: board and general meetings, annual filings such as AOC-4 and MGT-7, director KYC, event-based forms after every change in directors, capital or registered office, and the registers and minutes that go with them. Almost every filing needs a director's DSC, and the CS firm often holds the tokens. This guide separates the tools that do the secretarial work from the tools that run the office, and ranks both by what each does best. For the wider market, see our pillar guide to practice management software for CA firms.
Which software is best for a CS firm?
| Best for | Tool | Type | Why |
|---|---|---|---|

| Board-meeting-driven compliance with practice tools in one cloud product | RegAuto-Secretarial for PCS (TeamLease RegTech) | Secretarial tool with practice features | E-forms from meeting agendas, registers, document templates, tasks, invoices and timesheets; annual PCS price shown on its page as an image[2] |
| A compliance calendar with recurring work, attendance and payment collection | ERPCA | Practice software | Entity masters, compliance dashboard, director reminders; ₹250 per user a month, minimum 5 users[3][4] |
| The lowest per-user price for office management | Jamku | Practice software | Marketed to CA and CS offices; ₹6,500 a year for up to 5 users[5] |
| Engagements, DSC custody, a client portal, an AI assistant and billing from approved time | MyPract | Practice software (global, AI-native) | DSC register with token custody and signatory mapping, per-engagement portal, time approvals, AI assistant across every module; data domicile by country: a paying firm outside India gets its own in-country instance; today Mumbai (AWS ap-south-1) through Supabase; ₹12,000/year for the first 5 users, then ₹4,800 per user for users 6–30 and ₹4,000 per user for users 31+ |

Start your free trialDo CS firms need a secretarial tool, practice software or both?
Most need both, because they solve different problems:
- Secretarial tools produce the work product: MCA e-forms, XBRL files, statutory registers, notices, agendas, resolutions and minutes. Gen CompLaw and RegAuto-Secretarial sit here.[1][2]
- Practice software runs the firm around that work: which company's filing is due, who is preparing it, whose DSC is out of the drawer, which client still owes the board resolution, and whether the fee and the government fee reimbursement have been invoiced.
RegAuto-Secretarial is the one product here that tries to do both. Everyone else does one side well. The practical question is which pair works for your firm, and whether one product covers enough of both. Our explainer on practice management vs accounting vs tax vs audit software explains where the lines fall.
What does a CS firm need from its software?
Run these through a trial with a handful of real companies:
- A company and director master: CIN or LLPIN, directors and DINs, auditors and financial year, imported from Excel rather than retyped.
- Recurring and event-based due dates with an owner: annual filings, director KYC, and forms triggered by changes in the company.
- Review before filing, so a senior checks every form package an associate prepares.
- DSC custody: who holds each director's token, when it went out and came back, and when it expires.
- Document collection from clients for board packs, resolutions and supporting papers.
- Registers and minutes, if you maintain them for clients.
- Billing for professional fees and reimbursement of government fees.
- Access control, because a large client list shouldn't be open to every trainee.
How do the main options compare for CS firms?
Gen CompLaw: best for MCA e-form filing and XBRL
SAG Infotech describes Gen CompLaw as ROC software for filing MCA V3 e-forms such as AOC-4, MGT-7, MGT-7A and ADT-1. It lists XBRL creation and validation, auto-prepared statutory registers, meeting notices, agendas and minutes, bulk DIR-3 KYC status checks for directors, compliance reminders and a checklist.[1] Its product page lists ₹20,000 for installation and ₹9,000 for the yearly update; it doesn't say on that page whether GST is extra, so confirm the final figure.[1] It is a filing tool, not office software, so most firms pair it with something to run tasks and billing.
RegAuto-Secretarial for PCS: best for meeting-driven compliance in one cloud product
TeamLease RegTech describes RegAuto-Secretarial for practising company secretaries as a cloud platform that keeps master data on each client's entities, directors, committees, KMPs and auditors. It generates the relevant e-form from the agendas selected for a meeting, produces statutory registers, and holds a template library of notices, agendas, resolutions and minutes.[2] It also has a task module and a practice management utility for customer invoices, employee expenses and timesheets, with unlimited firm users and cloud storage.[2] Its annual PCS pricing is shown on the page as an image, so get a written quote.
ERPCA: best for a compliance calendar with back-office tools
ERPCA's page for company secretaries describes a representative scenario rather than a named client: entity masters with CINs, AGM schedules and due dates on a compliance dashboard; alerts to clients and directors about KYC, resolutions and DSC renewals; checklist templates with review gates before portal submission; and invoices that include government fee reimbursements.[4] Its SaaS plan is ₹250 per user a month billed annually, minimum 5 users, and includes attendance and payroll, a client mobile app, WhatsApp, Tally and Razorpay or PayPal collection.[3] It does not present itself as an e-form filing tool. See MyPract vs ERPCA.
Jamku: best on price per user
Jamku markets itself as office management software for CA and CS offices, with Android, iOS and desktop apps. It costs ₹6,500 a year for up to 5 users, then ₹1,300 per user up to 30, plus a ₹3,000 setup fee up to 14 users.[5] Its notice-sync product, Jamku Portal, covers the Income Tax, GST and TDS portals, which matters less to a pure CS practice. See MyPract vs Jamku.
MyPract: best for engagements, DSC custody and billing from approved time
MyPract is a global, AI-native practice management platform for accounting, audit, tax and advisory teams, which bills Indian firms in rupees and adds India-specific modules. It runs clients, engagements, tasks, time, invoicing, documents and a client portal in one workspace. It has no secretarial forms. What it offers a CS firm:
- Engagements per company. Each annual filing or event-based job can be an engagement with a manager, dates, budget hours and fee, and tasks with subtasks and dependencies, so a board meeting, the AGM and the annual filings run in order with a review step.
- A DSC register built for custody. Each certificate's holder, class and expiry status; token check-out and check-in with history; signatory-to-client mapping, so you can see which directors sign for which companies; and a usage log. Token PINs are never stored, and the register can be imported from Excel.
- A client portal per engagement. Mapped client contacts open it after an emailed 6-digit code, see status and tasks, upload documents and send messages. Portal clients are not charged as users.
- Time and billing. Manager-approved time, period locks and invoices from approved, billable hours, in each client's own currency.
- Access by client. Owners and Admins can limit any Manager, Staff or Viewer to selected clients, everywhere in the app.
- Client import with checks, up to 2,000 clients per file, with PAN, GSTIN, email and duplicate checks.
- An AI assistant inside the workspace. It answers from every module, because there is one data model, and creates clients, engagements, tasks, time and invoices only after you confirm. Claude and ChatGPT can be connected as agents through MCP, bound by the same roles as people; Owners and Admins can switch AI off.
- Data domicile by country: a paying firm outside India gets its own instance in its country, so its database, files and server functions stay in-country. Today, with customers in India, everything runs in Mumbai (AWS ap-south-1) through Supabase.
Price: ₹12,000/year for the first 5 users, then ₹4,800 per user for users 6–30 and ₹4,000 per user for users 31+, billed annually, no setup fee, with a 3-month opt-in trial that needs no card. See features and facts.
The limits that matter most for CS work: MyPract does not prepare or file MCA e-forms or XBRL, does not sync with MCA21, does not keep statutory registers or minutes, does not create the next occurrence of a recurring task automatically and does not send DSC expiry reminder emails.
How much does each option cost a CS firm?
Year-one list price, excluding 18% GST. Secretarial tools and practice tools are priced on different bases, so compare the pair you would actually buy.
| Tool | 5 users | 10 users | What the price assumes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gen CompLaw with XBRL | From ₹20,000 | From ₹20,000 | Installation price on its product page, which doesn't state how many users a licence covers; ₹9,000 yearly update from year two[1] |
| RegAuto-Secretarial for PCS | Quote | Quote | Annual PCS pricing shown on its page as an image; unlimited firm users[2] |
| Jamku | ₹9,500 | ₹16,000 | ₹6,500 for 5 users, then ₹1,300 per user; ₹3,000 setup[5] |
| ERPCA SaaS | ₹15,000 | ₹30,000 | ₹250 per user a month, billed annually, minimum 5 users[3] |
| MyPract | ₹12,000 | ₹36,000 | Flat for the first 5 users, then per user; DSC register and client portal included; no setup fee |
For a five-person CS firm at list prices, Gen CompLaw plus Jamku comes to about ₹29,500 in year one, and Gen CompLaw plus ERPCA about ₹35,000. With MyPract, add ₹12,000 to Gen CompLaw's installation price. Jamku costs less than MyPract at every team size, and ERPCA does from 7 users. For every practice tool in one table, see practice management software pricing in India.
Which combination suits which CS firm?
- A one-to-three person practice filing for 30 to 80 companies: Gen CompLaw for forms and XBRL, plus MyPract or Jamku for due dates, DSC custody and billing.
- A firm that runs board meetings and minutes for listed or larger companies: RegAuto-Secretarial, which builds compliance from the meeting agenda, possibly with separate practice software if you bill on time.
- A ten-plus person firm with trainees and payroll to manage: ERPCA for attendance, payroll and a compliance calendar, alongside your filing tool.
- A CS firm that also does GST or accounting work and bills by effort: MyPract with your filing tool, for engagements, approvals and invoices from approved time.

Who should not choose MyPract
MyPract is not the right pick for a CS firm in these cases:
- You want one tool that prepares and files MCA e-forms. MyPract files nothing with the MCA and has no XBRL; Gen CompLaw or RegAuto-Secretarial do this.
- You maintain statutory registers and minutes for clients. MyPract doesn't keep them; both secretarial tools above do.
- You want annual filings and director KYC tasks to create themselves. MyPract doesn't create the next occurrence of a recurring task automatically; ERPCA describes a compliance calendar, and RegAuto-Secretarial populates compliance from meeting agendas.
- You want DSC expiry reminder emails. MyPract's DSC register shows expiry status but sends no emails.
- You want clients to pay online or e-sign. MyPract does not collect payments and has no e-signature; ERPCA lists Razorpay and PayPal collection.
- You need attendance, payroll or native mobile apps. MyPract has none of these; ERPCA covers them, and Jamku has native apps.
- Price per head decides it. Jamku costs less at every team size, and ERPCA from 7 users.
How we checked
On 14 October 2026 we checked SAG Infotech's Gen CompLaw product page, TeamLease RegTech's RegAuto-Secretarial for PCS page, ERPCA's pricing page and its page for company secretaries, and Jamku's pricing page. Gen CompLaw's price is as shown on its product page; third-party listings show similar figures, and SAG runs time-limited discounts, so confirm before buying. RegAuto-Secretarial's PCS price appears only as an image on its page, so we list it as a quote. All prices are in rupees and exclude 18% GST, so no exchange rate applies. Which tool generates annual ROC compliance tasks automatically?
ERPCA describes recurring compliance workflows and a compliance calendar, Gen CompLaw lists compliance reminders, and RegAuto-Secretarial populates compliance from meeting agendas. MyPract does not create the next occurrence of a recurring task automatically.
